Biography
As a child, Patricia learned to play piano on her house piano growing up in a small town in Upstate New York. Once her sister taught her how the notes on the staff are placed, she was able to teach herself to read music at 5 years of age.
Her first music teacher accepted her at age 6, one of the youngest students she started. After 5th grade, Patricia switched to and from teachers that were sparse to be found in her small town until 11th grade when she was to prepare her college audition. In between those years, she played and sang for her church choir, school jazz band and school choir.
In college, she found her niche as an accompanist for all her friends at SUNY Fredonia's School of Music. She was widely requested as a pianist by her peers, faculty and professional musicians and conductors throughout the Western New York Region. After graduation she worked as a Public School teacher, Private Piano Instructor and a Opera Company Rehearsal and Music Director. She also worked as a vocal coach and accompanist at Mercyhurst College, now Mercyhurst University. She accompanies Children's Choirs, Musicals and Ensembles. Presently, Patricia works at Northeast High School in the School District of Philadelphia. She has her Masters of Music in Music Education from the University of the Arts. Patricia now owns her own home and studio in Abington Pennsylvania. Click on the Contact Tab to find more information regarding lessons. |
